General Information
This course introduces current research directions in major areas of Psychology, including biological, cognitive, social, developmental, and industrial psychology. Current research findings within each area will be discussed with the consideration of both theory and application. Apart from requiring students to familiarize with theoretical materials and empirical findings regarding various topics in Psychology, this course also encourages students to read and critically review the current literature and tries to interest student by exploring up-to-date findings and research methods.
It is a 2-credit course requiring 36 hours per semester to achieve the final goal.

Course Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this course, you will be able to:
1. familiarize yourselves with current theoretical materials and empirical findings in Psychology.
2. trace the history and identify future directions in various topics in Psychology.
3. describe how to use appropriate technique and methods to address a specific research question.
4. know how to critically review the literature and formulate your own views.
5. consider how to apply what you have learnt in psychology to the industry.

This is a graded course: your overall grade will be given as A (Excellent), P (Pass) or F (Fail). The percentage of students who get ‘A’ grade will be no more than 30%. The overall grade will be transformed from the total score.
